doctor Dr Mark Veltmeyer

Practice Principal and original co-founder of Ann Street Family Medicine in 1992. Graduated MBBS 1984 Queensland. Diploma Sports Medicine Association 1990. Practiced in Queensland, Canterbury UK and has practiced at Ann Street Family Medicine Nambour for the last 20 years. His interests are: General Medical Practice, Sports Medicine, Scuba Diving Medical, Travel vaccines, Cosmetic medicine (anti-aging injections, non-surgical face rejuvenation).

GP Dr David Gillis

Dr Gillis graduated from Sydney University in 1983 and has subsequently qualified for a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Gillis has experience in obstetrics, gynaecology, acupuncture, paediatrics and emergency medicine in addition to General practice.

GP Dr Mark Boon

Dr Boon is a local graduate of Brisbane whose family were pioneers of Nambour. He holds graduate bachelor degrees in Medical (Research), Science, General Medicine and Surgery, and a post graduate Masters in Geriatric medicine and Chronic Disease Management and Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care. He is certificated in radiography, pharmacy, manual medicine, acupuncture and has had over a decade of experience as a rural Medical Superintendent, Aboriginal Health Care and Royal Flying Doctor Service. He is a guest lecturer in Nursing at the University of the Sunshine Coast, a Medical Team member in Queensland Health Transitional Care Program (TCP) and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society for academic achievement at Edith Cowan and Sunshine Coast Universities.

doctor Dr Alex Mazarakis

Dr Mazarakis graduated in 1983 from the Pretoria University S.A. Dr Alex’s medical history includes Paediatrics, General Surgery and Orthopaedics. He operated his own solo Medical Practice in Pretoria for 3 years and jointly at the Broadway Health Centre for 10 years and a further 3 years in Wellington. His special interest is Paediatrics with further interest in family General Practice and counselling. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Melissa Clarke

Dr Clarke graduated from Townsville James Cook University in 2010.  She came to the Sunshine Coast after working in the hospital system in Brisbane and is enjoying getting to know this beautiful part of the world.  She enjoys all aspects of general practice, but particularly paediatrics, tropical and travel medicine.  Outside of medicine, she enjoys music and trekking.

Dr Salam

Dr Salam completed MBBS (Hons) from the University of Sydney in 2007 and has worked in the hospitals for a number of years before starting a career in General Practice in 2015.  Prior to that, Dr Salam had done PhD in Theoretical Physics from Cantebury University, Christchurch and lectured in Mathematics and Computer Science for ten years.  Dr Salam has a special interest in diagnostics. 

Dr Julianne Donovan

Dr Donovan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery from the University of Queensland in 2005.  She also holds a bachelor degree in biomedical science.  She is currently a GP  Registrar undertaking her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and enjoys Paediatrics, Women's Health and all aspects of general practice.  Outside of work Dr Donovan enjoys spending time with her family exploring the beautiful Sunshine Coast and surrounds.

Dr Angela Allsopp

Dr Allsopp graduated from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2011.  She moved to the Sunshine  Coast for her hospital rotations, and enjoys living on the Sunshine Coast too much to leave.  She enjoys all aspects of general practice, particularly paediatrics and women's health.  Dr Allsopp has a Masters in Public Health and a Diploma in Child Health.  Outside of work, she enjoys the wonders of the Sunshine coast with her family.

Penny comes to us with 9 years experience.  She has a Diploma of Practice Manager and a Certificate 3 in business Administration.  In her spare time, Penny enjoys spending with family, including 7 grandchildren.

Julie Wynn

Julie is our reception supervisor and has worked at Ann Street Family Medicine for 8 years. She holds a Certificate IV in Frontline Management.  Prior to that Julie worked for Cooroy Private hospital for 4 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and reading.

medical Centre Jenny Ferguson RN

Trained at Nambour General Hospital and Royal Brisbane Hospital and graduated 1978. She has gone on to work at various areas: Princess Alexandra Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital, Blue Nursing Service North and South sides of Brisbane and Sundale Nursing home, whilst raising two children. Jenny has an overall interest in the care and wellbeing of all patients, through further education and has been at Ann Street Family Medicine 17 years. Outside interests are her grandchildren (all 6 of them), gardening and craft activities.

 Meagan Ebert RN - Nurse Manager

Meagan graduated from Monash University in Victoria and joined our team in early 2014.  Meagan enjoys the community based health environment and the fast paced work of Ann Street Family Medicine.  Meagan has a particular interest in chronic disease management and delivering holistic patient care; with a desire in assisting patients to reach their health goals.  

 

 Martin Beattie RN

Graduated from University of South Australia as a Registered Nurse in 2003.  Specialized in post-operative cardio-thoracic nursing at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.  Experience also includes working in Travel Medicine, Community Nursing, Nurse Education, Intensive Care and Neurosurgery.  Martin also works in Chronic Disease Management at Ann St.

Mark comes to us with a 9 year background in Aged Care.  He has recently completed a Diploma of Nursing at the Gympie TAFE.  Mark has an interest in caring for people with special needs.  In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and tennis.

Originally from Goondiwindi.  Moved to the Coast in 1995.  Mother of 5 beautiful children and grandmother to  1 very cheeky little boy!  She worked in disability care for 4 and a half years becoming a graduate Endorsed Enrolled Nurse. My goal is to help people the best way I can and put smiles on faces.
